Hate is empowered right now and our most vulnerable communities are feeling the wrath of it. Official made substantial donations to non-profit organizations in 2020 to battle civil injustice and this year we will double down on that effort to battle hate. It’s our duty as a clothing brand to utilize our voice (our clothing) to help to remove the power from hate and assist those that have been adversely affected by hate.
Our first drop is a typographic statement to END HATE. Borrowing from traditional xerox, cut&paste zine style graphics to the iconic “athletic arc” texturized with stress and imperfection, these graphics are symbolic to how we all can take away hate’s power through grass roots, DIY (cut&paste, zine) and by reaching the masses using sport and mainstream iconography.
25% of all proceeds will go to the two non-profits our team has elected for our contributions to go towards. The first is The Anti Defamation League. The ADL has been fighting hate since 1913 and we want to support their relentless fight. The second non-profit is niot.org. This is a grassroots organization creating “Stop Hate Action Kits” and resources for anyone to battle hate at the neighborhood and grassroots level.
