So nice, they named it twice

The Berbers, the indigenous people of North Africa, are credited with the invention of couscous. Ideal for their nomadic lifestyle, it can be easily prepared, cooked quickly, and provide sustenance during long journeys. Over time, couscous has become a central part of Moroccan cuisine, with various regional variations emerging. Couscous is generally served with vegetables and cooked in a spicy or mild broth and sometimes served with meat such as chicken or lamb.
